Year after year, designers gear up for New York Fashion Week and put the "must-have" trends down the runway. Year after year, the normal, everyday person like you and me watch these fashion shows and wonder "Who in their right mind would wear that? I wouldn't be seen going through a fast-food drive through in that!"
Fortunately, yours truly at Diamond Icon had the distinct pleasure of watching most if not all of the Spring 2011 fashion shows via live stream from New York's Fashion Week (NYFW) and has chosen the most realistic and wearable designs for the upcoming spring season. While designers Christian Siriano (Project Runway fan fave), Donna Karan and Badgley Mischka continued to wow viewers from model to model down the runway, some designers such as Carolina Herrera, Vera Wang and Michael Kors failed to please and left many wondering where the "go-to" look was during the entire fashion show.
Diamond Icon's number one designer for practicality and ultra-glamour for the everyday woman would undoubtedly be Christian Siriano. One of the youngest designers to grace NYFW, his eye for detail, sophistication and elegance has made him one of the most sought after designers in the fashion industry. If you're unable to afford any of his pieces, no fear. Diamond Icon is already on the prowl finding similar pieces and styles at lower prices so stay tuned or visit our blog on diamondicon.myblogsite.com for updates.
In the spirit of NYFW and the upcoming spring season, prep your wardrobe with camel and earth tones as designers Christian Siriano, Donna Karan and Michael Kors predict that these will be the color palettes for spring. My suggestion: Add a red scarf, belt or shoe to make your spring attire pop. Also seek to incorporate ruffles, whether they are cascading from a pencil skirt or trimmed on a V-neck top into your outfits. Top your daily wear with a scarf, either through your belt loop or traditionally around your neck and you're fashionably ready for this spring.
